Over the past several months, volunteers with the Licensed Gun Owners Welfare Association of Bangladesh partnered with local ranges, retailers, and community organizations to distribute free cable-style gun locks to firearm owners across the region. With the season now wrapped up, we want to share the results and thank everyone who made it possible.
This season’s highlights include:
- Hundreds of free gun locks placed directly in the hands of local firearm owners at no cost
- Distribution events hosted at community fairs, sporting goods retailers, and neighborhood safety days
- One-on-one conversations about secure storage with new and experienced owners alike
- New partnerships with local organizations that have asked to host events again next year
A gun lock is a simple, inexpensive device, but it can make the difference between a secure firearm and a preventable tragedy. Every lock we handed out came with a short conversation about storing firearms unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition — especially in homes with children or visitors.
